TRS govt. doing real estate business with allotted land: Congress

All India Congress Committee (AICC) spokesman Dasoju Sravan claimed that the government had turned into a real estate broker, denying the rights of poor Dalits to allocated land and selling it to businessmen.

In a press conference here, he said that instead of being the custodian of public assets, the government is forcibly taking away land allocated to the poor by previous congressional governments. “Can the TRS government seize the lands of their rulers or the wealthy in the same way? Can the Chief Minister withdraw the allotted land encroached by TRS party leaders,” he asked.

He said the Congress government had distributed 22 lakh acres of land to Dalits, Tribals and BCs in Telangana region alone, ensuring their self-respect. Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, who made false promises that the TRS government would give three acres of land to Dalits, is now trying to claim and forcibly seize Dalit land for real estate projects,” he said. he alleged.

“It is unfortunate that the government itself is grabbing land and encroaching on the rights of the poor in the name of development. We have not seen such corrupt thinking in any previous government,” he said.

Mr Sravan said that after the formation of Telangana State, the KCR government did not give a single acre of land earmarked for the poor. “Only TRS leaders, deputies, ministers, government officials built farms, bungalows and became owners in the new state,” he alleged, adding that it was unfortunate to see the bureaucrats get involved as well. Mettu Sai Kumar, Chairman of TPCC Fisheries, senior Congress leaders Vijay Kumar and Taher Saadi were present.
