People: Darrell Plummer reappointed to the Nevada Real Estate Commission

Darrell Plummer of Sierra Nevada Properties was reappointed by Governor Steve Sisolak to the Nevada Real Estate Commission for his second three-year term.
Plummer was first nominated in 2019 and was named chairman in June 2021.
A fourth-generation Nevadan, Plummer graduated in 1984 from the University of Nevada, Reno with a degree in business administration with a major in finance and a minor in economics. With experience as an escrow agent with the First Interstate Bank of Nevada and as director of economic development at Sierra Pacific Power, he joined Plummer & Associates in 1995 and took over as broker/owner in January 2001.
Plummer holds several real estate designations, including CRB, ePro and GRI. He was Dean of the Leadership Program for Nevada Realtors and a founding member of the Board Program. He is past president of the Delta Sigma Pi Business fraternity at the University of Nevada, Reno (1984), past president of the College of Business Alumni Association at the University of Nevada, Reno (1990-92), past president of the Dean’s Advisory Committee. member of the board of trustees of the University of Nevada, Reno (1998) and recipient of the 1992 College of Business Outstanding Alumnus Award for professional and community involvement.
He won UNR’s Professional Excellence Award in 2017. In 2021, Plummer was nominated in the Most Influential People category of Northern Nevada Business Weekly’s “Best in Business.”
As a member of the Reno Sparks Chamber of Commerce who served on its public policy committee and acted as chairman of the board in 2019, Plummer received the Leadership Program Distinguished Alumni Award in 1993.
He has also served on the board of directors of Junior Achievement of Northern Nevada, Northern Nevada Regional Multiple Listing Service, My Hometown Heroes and is the past president of Western Industrial Nevada. He currently sits on the board of the JUSTin Hope Foundation.
