Coldwell Banker Helman Realtors partners with Coldwell Banker Real Estate Group

Two Coldwell Banker brokerage firms in west-central Indiana have teamed up, according to a press release from the two family-owned firms. Coldwell Banker Helman Realtors Chairman Troy Helman explains that the company’s new merger is “a family business working with another family business”.

“Coldwell Banker Helman Realtors will officially join Coldwell Banker Real Estate Group, the largest Coldwell Banker franchise subsidiary in the United States,” he added. Founded in 1968 as Larry Helman Agency, the Terre Haute-based brokerage house grew rapidly and became a subsidiary of Coldwell Banker Residential Affiliates in 1982. At that time the name changed to Coldwell Banker Larry Helman , REALTORS® and finally for Coldwell Banker Larry Helman REALTORS®. Now their relationship with Coldwell Banker is changing again.

“Our business grows and evolves, but our commitment to the Terre Haute community, our commitment to our clients, brokers and staff will not change. In reality, this change will only make us better and stronger, ”said Bernice Helman, Vice President of Coldwell Banker Helman Realtors. The move will provide opportunities for more services, both for staff and clients. Helman added: “The products and services offered by Coldwell Banker Real Estate Group go far beyond anything we could offer our clients and brokers… This is not Troy and I will move on, the whole team takes the next step.

As her husband Troy noted in a press release, Coldwell Banker Real Estate Group is also a family business. Like the Helmans, the Prodehl family maintained the business for several decades. “My father, Ed Prodehl, started his career in real estate in 1971 and today is our president,” CEO Mike Prodehl said of the Coldwell Banker story. “Although the business side of real estate has changed over the years, we are still a family business with family values first. Our agents are family and so are our clients.
